Airpods are the new pretty Apple’s headphones that are wireless. They resemble the Apple’s EarPods line; only that they are wireless. They have an inbuilt high-performance chip known as W1 chip which allows for efficient wireless audio transfer.
Design
They have a circular bud with a long tail that resembles those in EarPods line. They enable you to communicate because they have microphones at the tail end that picks up what you are saying. The long tail also allows you to issue Siri commands through double tapping it. They have dual optical sensors beneath the surface. At the bottom and top of the bud, they have dual microphones. Other features in them are an antenna, W1 chip and a battery. Apple W1 chip is custom-designed to drive the activities of the AirPods.
Dual Optical Sensors
The sensors allow them to detect when they are placed or pulled out of your year. They help in saving the battery life; for instance, they automatically stop the music when they are pulled out of your ears and turn it on again when placed back.
They have dual voice accelerometer that automatically detects sound when you are speaking and a pair of microphones. They have a touch functionality feature which enables you to activate Siri through double tapping your AirPods. Built-in microphones pass a command to Siri.
Sound Quality
They have good sound quality since they focus on internal sounds. This is through the activity of the voice accelerometer, the microphones and the chip that have the capabilities of filtering out external noise.
Connectivity
AirPods have seamless connectivity and unique functionality. They turn on and connect to your nearby Apple device immediately they are taken out of their special case using iCloud once you set them up.
They have an inbuilt W1 chip which allows for both audio processing and repairing. Their design allows them to work well with iOS 10, macOS and watchOS. However, you can still connect to your phone through the Bluetooth. This allows for an automatic connection to all your Apple devices after a one-tap setup. Battery life
You can listen to music for about 5 hours when it is fully charged. They come along with a charging case which offers 24 hours of battery life. You can get some battery life by placing them back in their case. For example, placing them in the charging case for fifteen minutes adds 3 hours of battery life. On opening the charging case, they pair instantly with your iPhone. The W1 chip in them contributes to battery saving through efficiently transferring audio.
You only need a lightning port after using the charging case for about six times. Thus its battery life lasts longer than most of the wireless headphone devices such as Samsung Gear IconX. Battery life can also be influenced by settings on your device and usage among others.
Pros and Cons
They have an advantage over the rest wireless headphones in that they have a long battery life compared to other wireless headphones which tend to last for about 3 hours. They allow for easier syncing. You don’t have to deal with entangled headphone cables.
It is not well known whether they are well compatible with all phones or just the Apple phones only. Not everyone is for funky designs. The company has not issued an alternative way of charging them. They are also at a risk of being consumed by children or pets if not kept properly.

You can get them together with your iPhone7, iPhone7 Plus and Apple Watch 2. They cost at a price of $159, which is a bit cheaper as compared to Samsung Gear IconX wireless earbuds.
