If you have kept up with tech news, then you would see that there are new markets that have been created in the past 1-2 years. One of these markets is fitness trackers. They are really great devices that can track your body details, predict how much you progress to the goal that you try to reach. Fitness trackers provide big help for people who are doing sports, but they can help persons who do not like or want to move their body.

Android has been the operating system who first featured fitness trackers and the OS is supporting and encouraging developers to make their own gadgets in the category. That’s why Google has made the Fit application to Android Wear. It is used to track down the body details of the person who is using the gadget more thoroughly, however, Google has released a new update for Android that we want to talk about. In the latest version of the Google Fit app, the company that has developed it made sure to track all calories that are in your body. Google also added the function to measure the distance that has been travelled by a single user in a specific time frame.

The New Functions in the Update

These two new functions that have been added to Android Wear are must haves in the category of these devices. Why do I say that? I say that because calorie and distance tracking have been a part of Microsoft’s fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band. The latter company’s tracker may not be the most precise in the category, however, the gadget has come with several new functions. Since the Microsoft Band had been released last year, Google had to think about updating their tracker application in order to get in competition with Microsoft. So, Google has added new functions to their fitness tracker app, which is quite great. So this way the company can use these features to get ahead of Microsoft in this area. Android wearable manufacturers will use Google’s app and add the new functions to their devices that have come out with today’s update.

Google Fit Update

The Android wearable devices are the ones that could be made most easily. The manufacturers that are making these items do not have to develop their own operating system in order to release a single device, but they can use the one that Google has provided for them. They have an even easier job in the category of wearable devices since Google has also made an application for them to use for tracking. This means they can synchronize their devices and track it with the Google Fit application. And with this new update we can even track our body details even more thoroughly. So, companies that are manufacturing gadgets for wearable purposes using Android will focus more on the preciseness of the sensors, so there will be no mistakes made in tracking.

Problems with Wearable Devices

Wearable gadgets have several problems. However, the most goes to the category of precision. If the fitness tracker you are using is not precise, it will commit mistakes that would conclude several problems. For example, if the fitness tracker tracks down your calories while running an hour in the park, however, the device says you have burnt down huge amounts of calories you will be happy. You will do the running again and again and the gadget will say the same. However, the product is not tell you the truth since you haven’t burnt just a few calories. However, this is the better option when a tracker is not being precise while tracking your body details. Just imagine if the device would show that no calories have been burnt during a heavy running course. You would be so disappointed in yourself since you would trust in the device that the gadget is saying the truth. However, the truth is that you were doing lots of exercises and the required calorie has been consumed. That’s why the first version of the problem is better. It motivates you at least. However, we hope neither of this would happen with the new update released to the Google Fit app.
